Camelot Community
It Takes a Community to Create Community
Community has never seemed more important. And for all who participate, being engaged in creating community can be uplifting. That’s because adding your unique spark enlivens your experience as a Camelot resident -- making your time here memorable in ways you may not expect. And there are all kinds of ways to contribute.
We were heartened that nearly twenty people shared their unique spark during the past year and a half. Alphabetically, by first name, they include:
Alison Rosen, Allison Read, Dan Devine, Dan O’Connor Fink, David Hantman, Debbie O’Connor Fink, Gabby Lecomte, Helene Lawrence, Jeannie Donofrio, Jeff Read, Lillian Reynolds, Marianne Sheridan, Mona Lyons, Patty Brown, Robin Hill, Susan Felpel, Suzanne Weidner, Tom Reynolds.
Because it takes a community to create community, we would welcome and appreciate your participation as a volunteer.
Like the people above, you could: Assist with a social event in the Clubhouse (decoration, set up, cooking, serving, cleanup). Volunteer to lead or organize an Interest Group (on any subject, particular talent, or skill your care about) as part of the HOA’s Community Building Initiatives program (see CBI below). Teach an independent class (like Alison Rosen’s chair yoga, or Ted Mason’s swimming pool exercise). Contribute your thoughts, ideas, and plans to improve community life (just tell us what you have in mind, using the Contact Us form on this site). Volunteer to assist the HOA Board with ever-changing jobs and tasks, from small to less small. Attend social events in the Clubhouse, by way of adding your presence to the vibrancy of our shared community.
Community Building Initiatives
This Camelot HOA program was launched after a new Board was elected in June of 2025, and is chaired by Laurel Marshfield. CBI was initially envisioned as having two main initiatives: Interest Groups and Block Advisors.
The Interest Groups initiative gathers people who share an interest (astronomy, for example, or bike riding) to enjoy doing and learning together. A group might be organized and led by someone with deep experience, or with no experience at all. The important thing is the experience of socializing around a shared interest.
Several Interest Groups were proposed (we are grateful to all those who volunteered), though not all attracted participants. There are currently four active groups: book reading, gardening, Frisbee Sports, and T’ai Chi gentle exercise (taught by a certified teacher). We hope to add more Interest Groups as the year progresses.
The Block Advisors initiative was envisioned as a way to connect the HOA Board with residents throughout Camelot via a volunteer Block Advisor living on each block (each half-street). Advisors would get to know every person on their blocks, become aware of individual and shared concerns, and communicate them to the Board. But after an initial start, this initiative hit a number of roadblocks. There was an objection to a volunteer either going door to door or leaving an information flier at residents’ doors (even if well hidden).
As a result, please use the Contact Us form on this site to join the Block Advisors program and/or to volunteer as an Advisor for your block. You can also suggest a new Interest Group you’d like to organize, using the same contact form. We will be delighted to hear from you.

Thank you for being a valuable member of Camelot’s vibrant and diverse community.
